          I do find touting the academic awards of television commentators (particularly on FNC) somewhat bizarre. When they pop up on screen I am reminded of the notable history text-book satire "1066 And All That" and its title page that proclaims the authors (perpetrators?) as "Walter Carruthers Sellar Aegrot: Oxon. and Robert Julian Yeatman Failed M.A., etc., Oxon., Illustrated by John Reynolds, Gent."

          Sadly the formalised system for turning out post-graduate degrees that has developed has produced a bunch of cyphers who epitomise the line about postgraduate studies that as you go up the greasy pole you learn more and more about less and less.

            The touting of degrees is supposed to grant credibility to people who make preposterous statements.

            Crowley made her name sucking up to Richard Nixon, makes her living by sucking up to Nixon's acolyte, Roger Ailes, and clearly shares the two men's values and regard for the truth.

          if there is ever a method to revoke a PhD, Monica would have to be the first one. She cheated on a paper a long time ago by plagiarizing another persons work and presenting the work as done by herself. She should have been thrown under the bus a long time ago. But Ailes likes leggy blondes and ratings.

            If she plagiarised her thesis or part thereof then a case could be made for stripping her of her doctorate. I suspect that the burden of proof would probably approach that of criminal law -i.e. beyond reasonable doubt.

            Dr. Crowley is in good company: Martin Luther King, Jr. plagiarized several passages in his 1955 Boston University Doctoral thesis from the work of a previous graduate student in the same program. A letter to that effect is with the official copy of the thesis. Institutions tend not to revoke the degree in these cases.

      They outed a CIA agent. That's illegal. Not just that, they also fired US attorneys who wouldn't kowtow to their political whims. This is just a classic case of "Do as I say, not as I do."

      Sadly, they give away PhDs at some universities. I read one PhD thesis and told the person you couldn't get B.A.with Honours with it. Monica's PhD is in International Relations and is from Columbia. She wrote about China and Nixon. Do you not have to do a Masters in the US, before you get your PhD? It does not mention her M.A.

      Anyway, PhDs can be wrong especially when they talk outside their area. Scooter Libby and that group were lucky they were not charged with treason. Outing any intelligence officer is a crime. Karl Rove, Armitage, Fleischer, Cheney and libby all should have been charged. Libby was the scapegoat.

      Monica should stick to American/Sino relations under Nixon.

      lol..She was a field case offficer who handled other field assets. She was also an expert on nuclear weapons and material. She had a cover for a reason....lol

      Monica, like other rightwingers downplay the problem because it was their team. It also is very telling how UNPATRIOTIC they really are. They outed an asset that the CIA kept covert for a reason. Libby, Rove and all the others wanted to promote the idea that nuclear weapon and other WMDs were in Iraq...but they weren't and they knew it.

      Valerie should get a star in Langley for having fallen from directed "friendly fire".

      The EPA ought to investigate the superfund site that sits a top of her shoulders! There has to be at least a case or two a day of hair spray being used to keep that hair of her's in place! That's a heck of a lot of pollutant's being sprayed everyday into the air, just to keep her hair straight!

      if it was the GOP coming into office after a dem did what bush administration did, they would play this hand. the dems should be playing hard ball, but wont.... it should have not been off the table....

And the rest of the so-called news media won't call them out on it because they are trying to avoid being labeled, "liberal media".
