        Right, courage. Think of the risks that Cornyn ran, the threat he faced.

        What it took, Steve, was a willingness to act and talk like a completely mindless, obnoxious jerk. If that is courage, the Congressional Republicans must be the bravest bunch in history.

      Courage?? Well hell Doocy...... I say EVERY Repub member of Congress who signed lobbyist Norquist's ridiculous tax "pledge" to keep from being primaried (blackmail) should resign immediately. We can't have a Congress beholden to a lobbyist, instead of their constituents.

      Using Doocy "logic", my courage must be off the charts.

      As a Texan, I can call Cornyn lots of things, but courageous isn't one of them. The actual high point was when Holder responded to Cornyn's ludicrous comment.

      Apparently, the Republican leadership is upset about this show hearing. It is NOT what they want right now. The facts are as Holder spelled them out in his response. This program began under the previous administration and Holder shut it down.

          Yep. Cornyn is another one of our "good-hair" politicians.

          Holder's response set out the actual facts. This whole thing is a "show" hearing and the GOP on the committee know it. They know that the subpoenas that they are having such a hissy fit about were not legal and that Holder doesn't have to respond to them, but they also know that the stupid Foxbots don't know that.

          These people disgust me. As someone who spent most of her adult life voting for a whole lot of (R) folks, I'm extremely disillusioned with the authoritarians and quasi-libertarians who have taken over this party and continued to call it "conservative." Nothing conservative about these idiots.

            The worst part of this? Holder wasn't there to testify about Fast and Furious, he was there for something totally different. Republicans who are so brave and courageous, that they can't admit that Justice has already released tons of documents.

      Cornyn is a crap jurist and even more rancid as a politician. He is a cheap headline hunter, full of self-righteous bollocks and with an unerring attraction to hyperbole.

      I presume that his utterances could be termed "high fructose Cornyn syrup" in view of their function in the public discourse.

      Yep, really courageous asking someone to resign because you don't agree with them. Doesn't have anything to do with his job performance, but everything to do with AG Holder being a democrat.

      Parts of Senator Cornyn's early career seemed hopeful. He went after energy companies that were not paying their royalties or companies that committed fraud. Now he seems intent on making ideological decisions rather than decisions that will benefir the country.

      He is a top oil supporter, he opposed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, he also oppoed Eric Holder as Attorney General...wow what a surprise.

      He voted against increasing the armor on combat vehicles
      He voted against withdrawing troops
      He voted against habeas corpus for prisoners at Gitmo

      The list goes on...lol

      This is guy who appears owned by industry.

        As a Texan the man totally embarrsses me.But what do you expect he comes from the same Bush/Perry/Gramm/probably Dewhurst Texas ultra conservative bloodline.To these people Kay Bailey Hutchison was a liberal.

          I lived in Texas for the last 11 years and found it interesting. Many people there believe some strange stuff. I watched that video on how the Texas Education Board picked the text books and the curriculum. One woman going about how she didn't know whop Gandhi was...so they shouldn't teach anything about him...lmao

            Which is why teachers should pick the textbooks and design the curriculum, not a bunch of people who wanted to get on the school board so that they can try to get prayer back in school.

        It's somewhat amusing listening to Republicans dismiss 'Operation Sidewinder' as
        "totally different" to 'fast & furious '.But they never say exactly how it differs.
