I'll add popular--I think the cheering and crowds really get under their skin. Remember the ad that tried to be negative by portraying him as "the cool president" as if it were a bad thing?

Indeed. They can't stand the idea of a crowd yelling about a black guy unless said black guy is an athlete or the crowd is wearing white hoods and carrying a rope.

      Such as what, Mark?

      Outing a covert CIA Agent?
      Warrantlessly wiretapping US citizens?
Ignoring a PDB titled BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO STRIKE IN US?

      Nah . . . it's for things like

      Using Air Force One
      Making recess appointments
Signing passed legislation into law that was upheld by the SC
And, in general, being PWB [president while black]

It's worse than that - recent declassified documents show Bush et. al. ignored ELEVEN warnings of an imminent attack.

These are the same people who freaked out about recall elections in Wisconsin and called those collecting signatures crybabies -- because you don't get to throw someone out of office just because you don't like his policies?

He's a little late to the game, isn't he? I seem to remember Weiner Savage calling for Obama's impeachement back in March 2009 for simply proposing this healthcare bill.

Weiner probably wanted to have him impeached for being elected, but couldn't find a sufficiently plausible explanation for it.

Despite the fact that there are racists among the tea baggers, I still think it's a bad idea to simplify this by calling it racism above all - clouds the real issue, which is simply about control.

They want their business buds to be able to grab every penny, while at the same time convincing the poor white trash it's all in their best interests. They want their religious nut buds to give them support, so they support them, whether they're batsh*t-Bachmann crazy about it or not.

That said, yeah, they'd probably like Obama if he was White House Shoe-shiner....

Give them time. I know there's more than a few already spelling America with a 'k' and saying that this is the tipping point and we're all doomed to dictatorship and tyranny... Unlike the last tipping point, when we were all doomed to dictatorship and tyranny - guess we were only "mostly doomed" then, and "partially doomed" the time before.

They're kind of like the armageddon nuts, who keep predicting the end of the world any day now, and when they actually pick a date, and it doesn't come through, rather than say, "Hmmm... maybe we're over-reacting to stuff," just go back and pick another date.
